Hunter & Michaels was founded in 1991 as an elite executive placement firm specializing in the consumer package goods industry. Throughout the years, our core business began to focus more on Mass Accounts, mainly Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club in Bentonville and also Target in Minneapolis. Our clientele began to diversify across the board and we focused heavily on delivering executive talent who specialized on those accounts. Today, we are devoted to building Wal-Mart Supplier Teams in Northwest Arkansas as well as placing companies’ upper echelon Sr. National Executive Leadership. Ray Smuland:
Ray founded Hunter & Michaels after 11 successful years of recruiting for Sales Consultants (Division of Management Recruiters International). In his tenure with S.C., he achieved national pacesetter every year. Five times he was awarded Regional Account Executive of the year. Ray was recognized three times as the S.C. National Top Ten Producer and a member of the MRI Hall of Fame. Ray was awarded CPC status in 1982 (status certification from the National Association of Personnel Services) As President and Owner of Hunter & Michaels, Ray brings over 20 years of successful recruiting to each client’s needs.

Jason Smuland:
Jason joined the Hunter & Michaels Firm in 2001. He specializes in placing executive talent across the board on the Wal-Mart and Sam's Club accounts. Jason has grown the H&M business portfolio significantly since his tenure within the team and is Vice President and Co-Owner of the Firm. Jason brings a successful passion to our clients' needs and has a strong track record of success in building Wal-Mart Supplier Teams.

Chris Grimes:
Chris Grimes specializes in Hunter & Michaels' national business. Chris primarily focuses on helping Midwest Vendors build their local Teams. His sales and finance background enables him to conduct detailed and thorough searches for Teams serving Target, Best Buy, and SuperValu... H&M has a track record of suppling talent in Sales, Marketing, Category Management, and Supply Chain for small and large suppliers. Chris measures success by making "the match" for both the client and the candidate.
